Sharing a memory by link
Make a separate encrypted copy that someone can open in a browser. Anyone with the full link can open, save or forward it.
How do I make a link?
- Open the memory, then choose More → Share by Link.
- Read what will be shared and the warning about saved copies. Choose 7, 30 or 90 days; the default is 30 days.
- If asked, choose Sign In to Share. Sharing needs an account, but it does not turn on backup.
- Choose Make Link and wait for the encrypted copy to finish uploading.
- When the link is ready, choose Copy Link or Send Link.
What travels?
The copy contains the title, date, summary, transcript with any Me/Them labels, audio, photos and extracted frames. Video is not shared. Your original memory stays in the app.
The app seals that copy with a fresh key. The key is in the full link, after the # sign; it is not sent to our server when someone opens the link. Their browser opens the copy on their device.
Who can see it?
Anyone who has the full link, without an account or the app. They can save or forward it, and the service you use to send the link can receive it too. Send it only where you mean to share the memory.
The reader creates no persistent content or key storage. That does not prevent a recipient from keeping a copy. We hold the sealed files and the sharing metadata described in the privacy policy, not the key.
How long does it last?
A link expires after the period you chose: 7, 30 or 90 days. See its expiry under Settings → Shared Links. Expiry stops new opens; it does not recall anything already opened or saved.
How do I take a link back?
- From the library, open More → Settings → Shared Links.
- Find the link, choose Take Back Link and confirm.
- Check that it says Taken back. If the request fails, check your connection and try again.
Taking it back stops new opens. Copies already opened or saved cannot be recalled. Your original memory and your ability to export stay unchanged. Deleting your account also stops new opens of its shared links.
How many links can I make?
Free includes five live links at a time. To make another, take back an older link or choose Pro. Pro has no fixed live-link count limit, subject to fair-use storage and abuse limits.
