The agreement, in plain words.
You own your content. Recording other people lawfully is on you. Pro renews through Apple until you cancel. The app uses Apple's standard license.
Who you are agreeing with

The app license
Trunk is licensed under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement governs the app license; this page explains recording, your content, and our account and backup services.
Who may use Trunk
You must be at least 13, or older where your country sets a higher minimum age. Trunk is not directed to children under 13.
Recording other people
You are responsible for recording lawfully, telling the people you are with, and getting their agreement where required. The app shows on screen, and on the lock screen, that it is recording. That indicator does not replace telling people or getting their agreement.
Sharing by link
Share by Link makes a separate encrypted copy of the selected memory. You are responsible for having permission to share the recordings, words and images it contains. Anyone who receives the full link can open, save or forward the copy. You may take the link back at any time, and it expires after the period you choose; neither action recalls copies already opened or saved.
Free accounts may have five live links. Pro has no fixed live-link count limit, subject to fair-use storage and abuse limits. Your original memory and your existing export rights are unaffected.
Public stories
Publishing a story is separate from keeping memories and is by invitation during the pilot. To publish you must be 18 or older, sign in, and accept the contributor policy the app shows you: that you made what you publish or hold the rights to it; that everyone who can be heard or seen knew they were being recorded and agrees to it being public, with every party's consent where the law of the place requires it; that you attach the named area where a memory happened, never a private home, follow the rule for a sensitive place and never attach a place to make a memory look like it happened elsewhere; and that what you publish is for a general audience. Every edition is reviewed by a person before it is public, can be removed under the policy and appealed once, and publishing needs your current sign-in. Changing a word of the policy changes its version, and you are asked again.
Anyone may watch public stories without an account and report one with a reason; a report is never shown with the reporter's name. A signed-in person may block a creator, which hides both ways and tells nobody. Your private memories stay private and are never part of any of this.
Your content
You own what you put into Trunk and what it makes for you. When you turn on backup or make a shared link, you permit us to store and transmit the encrypted copies needed for that service. We cannot open them or use their contents for training. The privacy policy describes the sealed files and readable metadata we hold and could be required to disclose.
Export is free and needs no account. You can take your recordings, pictures, video and text as ordinary files.
Free, Pro, prices and tax
Free includes two hours of transcription a month. Recordings over the allowance are saved and transcribed when it returns or you upgrade. Pro is US$4.99 a month or US$29.99 a year, with unlimited transcription and encrypted backup and sync, subject to fair use of about 100 GB. Privacy, export and app lock are never behind Pro.
Pro is an auto-renewing App Store subscription. Apple handles payment and tax. It renews until you cancel under Subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. If Pro ends, your backup is kept for 90 days and then removed; memories on your phone stay.
Refunds
Apple handles refund requests for Pro bought through the App Store, under Apple's terms. We cannot refund an Apple purchase on Apple's behalf.
Ending your account
Choose Settings, Account, Delete Account in the app. Account access and new opens of its shared links end. Removal of the backup, shared copies and account records begins; memories on your phone stay. Provider retries and retained records are described in the privacy policy. Cancel an Apple subscription separately in your Apple Account settings.
We may end an account for breaching these terms, abuse or illegal use, or at our discretion on reasonable notice.
